Join me for a two day ONLINE workshop where we will build upon the foundation laid during our earlier sessions and delve deeper into the coiling process. In Level 2, I will guide you through each step of transforming a more advanced form from paper to life, refining your coiling technique along the way. You will receive a pdf file with the outline of the form we will create, along with dimensions beforehand. During our sessions you will be guided into bringing this shape into the three dimensional world as precisely as possible. The goal is to begin gaining control over the outcome rather than simply following the clay's natural tendencies. By the end of this workshop you will know how to successfully plan the making of a desired form, how to plan the size of your piece in advance and translate scaled drawings into real vessels. Please note that this workshop is exclusively designed for those who have participated in Level 1, online or in person. To maximize your learning experience and retain the momentum from Level 1, I strongly encourage you to enroll in Level 2 soon after completing Level 1. This ensures that the skills and knowledge you’ve gained remain fresh and allows you to build on your progress effectively. To participate you will need to have: - 5 kg of clay with high grog - a knife - a needle - a metal kidney - a surrated kidney - a surform - a banding wheel (or two bowls instead) Please email info@karinasmagulova.com to request images for any of the tools mentioned. Kindly note that this is an online workshop held via Zoom. At the end of each session you will receive a recording of the live class to practice in your own time.
